Dear Mrs. Broome....
An absolutely lovely creation! Ofcourse I was crying like a baby when Uncle Ogre died... but unlike everyday, in your book "all good things DON'T come to an end!" and that is what is so lovely about it!

The story has a very feel good factor to it. There are some books leave me with a feeling of sitting in boat bobbing up and down a cool, blue stream. Flute in the Forest is one of those. There is neither anything earthshaking about it and nor anything over exciting... it just fits into the stream of life.

Thank you for this book. I would love to meet with you when you have the time to know more about the story behind this book. I don't know many authors, but I am so proud I know this one.

Dear Leela,
I was planning a story with a flute in it. So when I saw your book on the stand, I was devastated. I read the first two chapters, sitting in Landmark in Bombay. It was so beautiful that I could barely read on. I came out of the store with a light head and a heavy heart. Filled with nostalgia for my home in Shillong...the smell of pine...the misty evenings...my walks with Bapi-my father...the loneliness. You are wonderful. Thank you.
Lots and lots and lots of love,
Sharmistha.

P.S: Would love to talk to you. Can I call you sometime? I am in Bombay for two more weeks. Was here writing for Tinkle comics.
Dear Sharmishtha,
Great to hear from you, and your comments were heartwarming, as I wished for my readers to feel when they read my book.
HINT: If you miss home, go back. Shillong is beautiful, your writing will flow like a fresh spring, just GO FOR IT!
And do call, I've given you my number in the email I just wrote separately.
